Un-necessary harassements and High handedness of Administration

`CASES OF HARASSMENT'S
On 25.02.2010 a Senior motorman driving his SIEMENS rake has been asked to apply auto brakes at Dadar Station with Sr.DSO and Safety counselor traveling in the cab.  Even though the Auto brakes not only efficient and convenient to apply in SIEMENS rake the motorman brought the rake to a smoothly halt at just 3 sleepers (one feet ) after the Stop Mark ( which indicates where the rake has to be stopped ). The Officers and the Safety counselor has not even checked the position of the rake by getting down from the cabin and put the motorman to counseling immediately without making any joint observations. The Auto Brake is not a service brakes and it is only used for emergencies. This is a challenge that no motorman can ever never stop his train exactly stop at the Stop Mark. The Stop Mark is only an indication and it cannot be exercised to stop at exactly at the Stop Mark. The action of Sr. DSO and Sr.DEE (O) in this regard is condemned by the Association.

Punishment on Call of Nature:
on account of stressful and against the nature working, even if there is any minor detention due to the call of nature of the motormen, they are punished without any human consideration.

Punishment for bluffing signal:
If any case happens on account of confusing/bluffing signal, instead of improving the signaling system, the administration punishes severely the innocent motormen.

Harassment on consumption of more energy by rakes by few KW's

In spite of working with tough parameters of safety and punctuality, if there any minor difference of consumed energy and the energy given by administration ( without considering any factors like peak hours, old and new rakes, late running or making up time of the late running, brake binding etc..), motormen has been harassed on this account. The association has fought against this irrational act and successfully compelled the administration to roll back this campaign.

Harassment by expecting technical troubleshooting without proper training:
With the introduction of new technology, no one is properly aware of technical; aspects of the rakes. Whenever there is any detention, deliberate efforts are made to frame the motormen.

Conspiracy to spoil the image of dedicated workers:
There have been continuous efforts on the part of administration and the recognized union mazdoor sangh and its Div. Secretary Ajay Singh to spoil the image of dedicated hard workers. We are happy that we have successfully fought against these acts and respected commuters have always maintained their love and trust with us.
Some such cases are mentioned here:
In 2003 when motormen raised the problem of leaves ( that was severely affecting their working, personal and social life for example one motorman Mr Katib Mohd cried in front of the CLI booking for just one day leave as his cousin has to be operated for bypass heart surgery on that day ), the then CPRO made statement in the press ‘motormen want to reduce their working hours’. when the association raised the issue before him, he corrected it with the statement ‘Demands of Motormen are Justified’.

In 2009 January an article published in the Nav Bharat Times ‘Motorman Malamal …..’ that told that motormen are getting about one lakh per month.
The motorman wives association conducted a press conference at Marathi Patrakar Sangh Hall to condemn this conspiracy.  As evidence in favour of their explanations wives of motormen distributed pay slips of motormen and successfully condemned this evil act.

In 2010 the DGM of the Central Railways made a wrong statement about the salaries of the motormen, after severe opposition he took back his words and expressed his apology to the motormen and informed that a handful of persons cannot be compared to the whole category.

Recently (in Feb. 2010) an article is published in the Times of India about the platform overshooting of trains. This article is full of biases and incorrect presentation of facts. The association has condemned this act. And the press is not bothered to publish the explanations given by the Association instead goes in hand with the administration.

These conspiracies, to spoil the image of dedicated and hard workers, are evil efforts to affect the trust and love of respected commuters of Mumbai for us. We request our esteemed commuters not to pay attention to such propaganda. People of Mumbai are aware that we are always putting our more than 100%  efforts in their service despite different hurdles and we are determined to put whatever possible from our side.



Issue of brake test in yards:
Motormen have been punished for not taking brake test in the yard, they have also been punished for getting the brake test done in the yard. At some places it is mentioned to take the brake test in yard in the schedule while at some places the same schedule asks not to take the brake test in yard on the other hand at some places it is not clear whether to conduct it in yard or not. the administration seems to be quite confused on deciding the right process. They are harassing and punishing the motorman as and when.
